What Markus Zapp did until now...


Committed to singing since his early childhood, Markus Zapp became a
member of the Regensburger Domspatzen , the world’s oldest boys choir, at the
age of 10.
In1991 he started his career as a professional singer by co-founding Singer Pur, an
internationally renowned and award-winning vocal ensemble.
In addition Markus Zapp took up his vocal music studies at the Academy of Music in
Munich, being taught, among others, by Helmut Deutsch, Hanns-Martin Schneidt
and by Prof. Andrea Mellis in Vienna.
Markus Zapp has appeared on stage as a soloist in more than 40 countries world-
wide, and has participated in countless world premieres of compostions such as
those by W. Rihm in the Berliner Philharmonie. Markus Zapp performs solo recitals
with Classical and Romantic opera repertoire of Puccini, Wagner, Verdi, Mozart, Gluck,
Gounod and Bizet, or sings Baroque and contemporary music e.g. with Andrew
Parrott, the British Hilliard Ensemble, the musikFabrik under Stephan Asbury, the
theatre of his hometown Regensburg, as well as for the Broadcasting Orchestras
of Slovenia, Berlin and Munich under the direction of Marcello Viotti.
